Love,

My dad Frank Faggart raced with "Haywood". Dad's health is bad now, but he was sad to see his friend had passed. He want's the family to know you are in his prayers, and Hayward will always be in our memories.

Hayward Plyler was a racing legend, and one of my heros. I'll never forget going to Concord & Metrolina in the early eighties, and hearing the name "Haywood" (as most people would pronounce it) Plyler called out over the P.A. He was a true racing pioneer and will be missed. Godspeed Hayward.

One of the best who ever raced in this area. When I was growing up he was winning races all the time against the great competition around the Carolinas. He was part of a great group of drivers that included (among others)Stick Elliott, Freddy Smith, Carl Smart, and the Earnhardts.
When Concord Motorsports Park held their 20th reunion a few years back it was quite a thrill to see Hayward back at the the track that weekend.
Thanks for the memories, he will be missed.
