Not sure what to say?

My sister, Sandy, just told me the news. I regret that I was not able to come and pay my respect to a woman that loved my family and was loved back tenfold. Hazel was my grandfather's housekeeper for as long as I can remember! I, too, loved the cookies, but there was nothing better than coming in the back door of my grandfather's house and meeting Hazel in the hall with arms outstretched. She gave new meaning to the term "bear hug"!! My grandmother died in 1966 and Hazel was the one who...

I'm so sorry to hear of Hazel's passing. She worked for my grandfather (Bernie Hanson) and she treated me like a granddaughter whenever I came to visit. She was so kind and caring and made the best cookies! I still think about her Berlinerkranzer cookies that my grandfather and I loved.(If you ever come across her recipe, I would love to have it to remember her by.) Your family is in our prayers.

We will miss Hazel so much, what a great Grandmother. We are unable to return for the services but you will all be in our thoughts.

Grandma Hazel will forever be in my heart. She was everything that a Grandmother should be and more… She was always there for me helping to take care of me while mom was at work, coming out to the house when I got sick and lending an open ear to talk to as I grew old with a family of my own. She helped teach me what family really was all about. I will miss her meatballs and doughnuts, her warm smile and her open heat. She is at peace now with Grandpa and the rest of her family but she...

I am very sorry to learn of Hazel's death. My deepest sympathy goes out to Terry & Roy Roeser, Gene & Kit Dix, Darrel & Marguerite Dix and all the grandchildren & great grandchildren.

I join the many friends and family who will miss Hazel. She is the last of her brothers and sisters to leave us, and I know she is enjoying this reunion as she so loved our family reunions through the years. Our condolences to my Cousin Hazel's family.
