My old friend Hazel has depart ed this esrth I am quite sure she is enlivening heaven with her tall tales I have a feeling that all the saints and God himself are having a good laugh. Perhaps they need it. She certainly brought a welcome break to our dummers with her high balls and funny jokes. cheerio hazel. We"ll be seeing you.

Of the many trips we've taken to Nova Scotia from here in MA, certainly the most memorable was the one one year when Hazel drove up with us. She treated us to 700 miles worth of stories, anecdotes, jokes, reminiscenes, and family histories. Hazel indeed had a gift! And when John concentrated too much on the driving, and not enough on the storytelling, she would poke him in the shoulder to make certain he was listening to every unfolding detail. Hazel was one of a kind.
