Hazel Sadie Neal

Hazel Sadie Dowless Neal, 83, succumbed to the will of the Lord on Sunday, January 8, 2023. She was born in Bladen County, NC on September 13, 1939 to the late Thomas James & Annie Bell Thompson Dowless.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark A. Neal, Sr.; and her sisters: Annie Mae McLean, Shirley Meares, and JoAnn Meares.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years and 7 months, Jerry Dean Neal of the home; her sons: Reginald Dean (Debbie) of Wilmington, NC, Terry Wayne, Sr. of Eagan, MN, and Jerry Lynn Neal, Sr. (Ellen) of Lumberton, NC; her daughter-in-law, Lisa Neal of Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren: Mark Neal, Jr. of Lumberton, NC, Autumn Michelle Shuman of Nakina, NC, Robert Brandon Neal of Leland, NC, Terry W. Neal, Jr., Tyler J. Neal and Travis D. Neal, all of Minnesota, Austin James Cooper of Washington, and Jerry Lynn Neal II of Lumberton, NC; her great-grandchildren: Harry A. Shuman, Jr., Hunter Austin Shuman, Hank Aaron Shuman, Lincoln Connor Neal, Peyton Arlene Neal, Avery Diane Neal, and Ivy Caroline Neal; her sister, Barbara Dowless Britt (Wesley) of Alabama; and a niece who was more like her sister, Vickie Sue Dowless of Lumberton, NC.
