My thoughts are with you, Jay, and with all of Hazel's family at this difficult time. Hazel was like a mentor to me as we worked together to get a book published several years ago, and I've never forgotten the advice and insights that she shared with me at that time. What a gift she was to so many people.

Hazel was one of the bright lights of my life. She hired me as a bicycle-crazy kid to help poster the town. She gave great guidance as a leader in teaching all of us about Ann Arbor's rich history. She was an outstanding president of our Ann Arbor Symphony. She always had a warm and ready smile. I will miss her dearly. My condolences to Jay and to her family
