Goodrich Funeral Home - Lynn Obituary

Hazel R. Ryan died peacefully in her sleep after a lengthy illness, on Monday November 14th 2016. She was born in Lynn, April 11 1939. She is predeceased by her parents Donald Sprague and Doris Carmody. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John J. Ryan, and her 4 children, John M. Ryan and his partner Cathy of Tewksbury, Linda Molea and her husband Frank Jr, of Lynn, Robert Ryan and his wife Susan of Saugus and Beth Ryan of Wakefield, her many grandchildren, Eric Ryan and his wife Stefanie of Shirley, Frank Molea 3rd, Kerry Anne Molea, Cassandra Molea, Kirsten Molea of Lynn, Sean Ryan of Saugus, Timothy Ryan of Wakefield, also, her great-grandchildren, Frank Molea IV and Roman Angelo Ryan. So, who was Hazel Ryan? She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and mother to so many others in need. On many occasions when we were young we were sent to our elderly neighbors homes, with a hot meal and told it was better to give than to receive. When a family's house burned down even though our house was small, she took in all 6 people. Many stray animals found their way to her house and found their forever home. There was always a warm bed and a hot meal for many family members in her house, who needed a place to call home. Even strangers and the down and out had a place in her home. She will be loved and missed by all those who knew her. We believe in our hearts that God needed a caregiver, for the unwanted, and unloved, animals of the world and that's why she left us so young. Her funeral service will be held in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington St., Lynn on Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, 4-7 p.m.

Not sure what to say?

I am deeply saddened to hear of Hazel's passing. My mother Beverly and I worked with Hazel a while back and she was great to work with and she always kept us laughing.
I often wondered how she was doing and now I wish I had made a better effort to go and see her.
My deepest condolences to all of her family.
If she was anything like I remember her she's up in heaven raising hell with Beverly , Barbara, Leo, Bob, Sharon, Jimmy and many others who left before her.
Rest In...

Rest in Peace Aunty Hazel. I don't know how I would of survived my childhood without you. You were always there for me, and I will never forget all the laughs and fun memories we shared. I thank you for that! There will always be a special place in my heart for you. Love, your niece, Patty

I am sorry for your family's loss. Seems as though all of the women from "The Court" are together again. I can picture my grandmother (Polly), Wanda and Hazel chatting in between the Kasle and Kneath yards. Rest in peace Hazel.
