My Dear Heather, Not a day goes by where I don´t think about you. You were the last person I saw before I moved back to Canada. It was January the 6th, 2003 and we sat in a cafe in Sausalito by the water. It was a glorious, sunny day. We laughed and laughed and then I cried because I knew when I moved back, I may not see you for long time. When I first met you, I knew in that moment you were my kindred spirit. I miss you so much and you will be in my heart forever and ever. I love you...

I knocked on the door and a beautiful young lady answered, I said Heather, she said Elizabeth and we began to laugh. You see we knew we were sisters but we had not met until that moment. Brian, our father had asked if I would bring her to his home. I was 30, she was 17 and had a smile and laugh that was infectious. We laughed and talked all the way to Daly City and through the weekend. Though the years if I was in the Bay Area to visit our father she always made it a point to see me. I am...

Oh, this is so sad. Heather was a lovely person, and I'll always regret falling out of touch with her. In September of 1993, she was living in SF, and I was on a West Coast car trip, so we headed up the coast for a couple of days of lazy, aimless sightseeing. Heather was wonderful company. Joe, I'm so glad to hear you were good to her. She deserved that. Rachel, your photo of her caught that fabulous smile--so lovely, and so was she.

Rachel, Thank you for sharing this link with us. We do so appreciate seeing people as they were before becoming our patients. You did an amazing job of taking care of her. I pray you can give yourself some of the love and kindness as you adjust to her not being here. Anne
