Not sure what to say?

I worked for Herb back in the Mid 90's doing home repair work. I will always remember him as a kind and thoughtful person. He made a strong impression on me about the value of hard work and pride in what you do. He always had a great story to tell and plenty of jokes to make work a fun and interesting place to be. My thoughts are with his family. They should be proud knowing what a positive impact he had on so many lives.

Ellie, so sorry for your loss. As you may remember both of my son's Eric and Curtis first jobs were having the privilege of having Herb as their boss. Herb had the patience and sence of humor to work with these young teenagers and teach them a trade which they will always have. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.

Herb will be missed but is in a better place. Thanks Ellie, Herb and Charlie for being my friend.

Herb was an amazing man, mentor, and friend. Herb was my Skipper on Ship 881 in Springfield, Virginia, back in the 70's. As our Sea Scout leader he helped shape the lives of young men and women. He taught us responsibility and respect for the sea, the ship, and ourselves. My parents became involved with helping and supporting Ship 881 (especially the Gator) and became life-long friends. Good-bye Skipper. You will missed, but always loved.

Ellie and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Herb was a great mentor and friend to us in the model railroad community. He taught many of us lessons in courage and grace this past year. May he rest in peace. We'll miss you Herb! Tom and Mary Ann Lindsay
