Hector Lopez grew up in Silver City and the Heights of the former Canal Zone, Panama. We were neighbors and my family and I knew him well. We were very proud of him as he made his mark in the major and minor leagues and baseball. I would like to convey my deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Rest in Peace my brother. Marva J. Paved the way for a lot of other minorities in professional sports top positions especially Frank Robinson in 1974.
