I never met Hector in person, but spoke with him over the phone. He was a selfless Man, who helped sooo many people who were/are dealing with Cancer. He was a source of strength, compassion, and a force to be reckoned with. He brought to light the underfunding for Pancreatic Cancer, and got the ball moving to help so many others. Condolences to the Macmillan family. We met Mr. Macmillan only once in Hastings a few years ago. He was setting up tables for a BBQ weekend and he asked us where we live and to come on down for the BBQ. I followed his Cancer battle closely and corresponded with Mayor Hector, Jerry Agar and Joe Warmington. Thank you Mayor for bringing so many holes in our Medical system to the forefront. How sad that you had to leave Ontario and Canada and that you could get medical help at home for you...
