It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and dear friend, HECTOR SANCHEZ 60, of Anthony. Hector was born March 2, 1962 to Maria Dueñez and Luis Sanchez. At a young age Hector, a hard worker could be found on a tractor, working for his father or other local farmers. He also worked at Asarco in El Paso, TX., for many years as well as a plant manager for various Concrete Companies in Southern NM, then retiring from NM DOT. Hector’s passion and heart was in farming, which is something he instilled unto his amazing sons. Hector was a loving person and never thought twice about helping others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.


Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife, Eleanor Sanchez; two sons, Joshua Sanchez (Lorena) and Joseph Sanchez; his two precious grandsons, Justin “Pops” and Jaden “Bubbus” Sanchez; two brothers, Luis Sanchez Jr (Bonnie) and Mike Sanchez (Irma); all of Anthony; two sisters, Yvette Joaquin (Isaac) and Lisa Sanchez both of Austin, TX; his favorite cousin, Bonnie Perea and brother/cousin Rudy Sanchez (Angie) also all of Anthony. Hector was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gilbert Sanchez as well as other family members.


Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10 AM Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Street in Anthony. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will be at the Anthony Community Cemetery, 750 Acosta Road where he will be laid to rest alongside his family members.


Serving as casket bearers will be Hector’s nephews, Kiki, Mikey, Ernie, Gilbert and Gerald Sanchez, and Godsons, Daniel Garcia, Jacob Robles and Roland Jacques. Honorary bearers will be, Moni Franco, Andy Jacques, Willie Hernandez, Arturo Sanchez, Bobby Fresquez, Jaime Garcia, Raymond Garcia, Ben Sanchez, Memo Garcia, David Carrasco, Mario Moreno, Gabriel Muñoz, Jr., Daniel Ramos, Rudy Gonzalez, Rick Ramirez, Andy Herrera and David Moroñes.
