Helen's life and work touched millions through her work with UNICEF and touched mine as well through her example. She lived a good life and continued to give even after leaving the breastfeeding world. Thank you Helen for being the person you were.

Growing up in Kenya the Armstrong house was my home away from home, with my siblings and I closely matched in age to Jannie, Elizabeth and Conrad (with whom I was thick as thieves). Helen taught us the love of reading, appreciating nature and valuing all people. Her loving heart and firm nature helped guide my siblings and I through a very turbulent time in our lives and we have all stayed in touch since. Thank you for showing us by example how to live our lives with meaning.

Helen helped dozens of mothers like me with the early days of caring for our babies. She did great good wherever she lived. Thanks for her life and sympathy to Jannie, Elizabeth, Conrad and Judy.
