Helen D. Blevins, age 83 passed away Tuesday June 11, 2019 at the Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie. VA.
Helen was born in Mill Creek to the late Henry C. Davenport and Belle Gilley Davenport and was preceded in death by her husband Elmer C. Blevins and her brother Bob Davenport. She attended Emory and Henry College and the University of Tennessee. She was employed at DG Moldings for several years.
Survivors include her sister in law Cordia Davenport; nephew Dickie Davenport; nieces Brenda Eller, Judy Compton, Peggy Boone, Kaye Blevins, Debbie Lee and Pattie Davenport; several great nieces and great nephews also survive.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2PM Sunday June 16, 2019 at the Lebanon UMC Cemetery in Chilhowie with Reverend Wesley Eller and Reverend Eddie Lyles officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening at Pattie Davenport’s residence, 942 Loves Mill Road in Chilhowie. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or to St, Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
