Not sure what to say?

Ive thought of Mom so often since she passed away. I have many fond memories of times we spent together & they will always be a very special part of me! Our many conversations when we lived far apart were always filled with laughter, talks of books weve read & just general friendly chat! How I have missed them! The years continue to go by; but I will always have this special place in my heart for Mom.

I will always cherish the many wonderful memories I have of "Mom". She has been a very special part of my life for over 40 years and I will miss her deeply as will my son. They had a great affection for one another. We will always remember you, Mom and treasure all of our conversations and visits through the years. I only wish we had had the chance for many more. You will forever be in our hearts.

I am Richard Durkee, (83) a former student of Ralph Cates at Zimmerman. It sounds like Mrs Helen Cates had a long and active life.

Helen and Ralph were teachers at Longfellow during my time as principal. Very good teachers and very good people. Jake Brisendine, Swartz Creek.

As a former student of Mrs. Cates at Longfellow, I remember her with affection and respect. May warm memories of her offer you comfort. Gale Garner Traywick (formerly of Flint, MI)

Jonnie and I have great respect and friendship for the Cates family. We are very sorry to hear of Mrs. Cates passing, and will keep the entire family in our prayers.

Helen was a dear friend and (we agreed) my adoptive mother! We connected late in life (I am 70) on many levels: S.t Andrews, Flint Public Schools, teaching, Mt Morris, love of life, sharing spirituality, etc. We shared stories of our children and grandchildren. I admired her for her strenths and faith. A beautiful creation of God and now she is free of her failing ! Love you my friend - Helen.
