Not sure what to say?

Mrs Charnley was dedicated to her job and her pupils. She taught me A-level Maths and Further Maths and I can´t count the number of breaks she stayed behind to explain some question or concept I hadn´t fully grasped in class, when I´m sure she was quite ready to take a break herself. "Don´t give up" and "you CAN do it", were two of her mantras, and her dedication and encouragement meant that I went on to pursue a degree in Maths. She was one of the very special group of teachers who don´t...

Helen had the special gift of being able to inspire others, whether it was making GCSE maths truly engaging, or her warm words of encouragement, she was always able to brighten people´s days, especially mine. Thank you so much for that Mrs Charnley.

Helen cared for her pupils as a mother cares for her children. Her kindness was limitless. She will be very missed in the community.

A-Level class of 2019

Mrs Charnley as I know her was my favourite teacher and is my inspiration for becoming a chemical engineer. She taught me maths for 4 years from 2015-2019 and she was gentle, kind, and a great listener, really took time to get to know her students well and she will be missed dearly. Rest in peace Mrs Charnley.

She is a beautiful soul and whilst she is deeply mourned & missed here, she will grace heaven now. Until we meet again Helen xxx

We first met Helen when she was collecting NSPCC envelopes in Burton Joyce and she very much got us on board. After further contact we made friends. Eventually our James was in same class as her daughter Rose and we all became friends. A lovely lady, dedicated to her family as well as the many pupils she taught.
