The loss of a beloved parent is one hard, difficult moment a person deal with in life. May our Heavenly Father be the One who imparts of His strength and comfort to you, and help you endure - For God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distress... be sure that her determination as a woman, submission as a wife, and compassion as a friend, were qualities that many admired of her.

I am so sorry to hear of Helen Chavez passing. She and her husband are wonderful examples of humility ,dignity and determination in the face of racism. We must continue to go forward in their honor for the grace and rights of all people.

Very sad news about a very wonderful woman. She touched the lives of so many. I am the artist for the Cesar Chavez USPS postage stamp, and in Los Angeles for the dedication of the stamp, I had an opportunity to meet Helen and some of the family. She was so kind to me. Just a few minutes, but I felt she would have been inviting me over for dinner if I had been in need. Something I will always remember. Please let her family know how many people are thinking of them at this time.
