Helen Marie Conklin

ATKINS, VA

Helen Marie Conklin age 86, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at Carrington Place of Wytheville. 

Helen was born on March 13, 1939, in Grayson County, VA, to the late John and Ona Virginia Conklin. A devoted daughter and caregiver, she lovingly tended to her mother and cherished her family throughout her life. Helen’s faith was central to who she was; she first attended Young’s Chapel and later became a faithful member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church. She found great joy in reading her Bible and studying God’s word. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by four brothers, John Conklin, Glenn Ray Conklin, Tommy Conklin, and Robert Conklin and a special friend Bud Johnson. 

She is survived by her brothers Louis Conklin & wife Sheretta of Abingdon, Walter Conklin & wife Rosela of Galax, and Carlis Conklin of Atkins; sisters Edith Delby of Blacksburg and Phyllis Street & husband Harold III of Wytheville; sisters-in-law Patricia Conklin of Marion, Margaret Conklin of Atkins, and Lenette Conklin of Kansas; along with several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from the Bradley’s Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Interment will follow at Wassum Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
