She was like my second mother for a few time during my stay in Boston a long time ago. It was a wonderful opportunity and an special experience that I'm keeping for the rest of my life. I had a lot of good memories from a Christmas time at Drinan's house with all the family including father Drinan an the uncleshouse an Christmas time with all the family. This is a son of Henry and Doris McMahon. My condolences to the entire Drinan family. Helen Drinan was the epitome of what made the greatest generation so great - wise, compassionate and deeply committed. I remember her making hot chocolate for me many times after I played hockey on Crystal Lake, encouraging me to pursue a congressional internship with Fr. We were neighbors of Helen´s for over twenty years on Norman Road in Newton, and always enjoyed her spirit, wisdom, generosity and feisty sense of humor. Our children had an open invitation to play in her large yard - she was kind and important to us all. We will miss her!
