Not sure what to say?

My heart remains broken over the loss of this truly special person. She brightened every gathering of our group that met her originally in the ER, a group that continued on when we moved on in work and life. Our yearly December ski outing at the Mazama lodge was even more fun with her humor and laughter. She gave so much to so many, and will live in our memories forever. Her warm smile will forever live with us.

I think of her often.

Helen and I were very close friends through Middle School and High School. We did a lot of crazy things together. Many of us love to gather at her home as there was always a fresh pan of brownies and glass of cold milk to refresh us. We giggled and laughed over “boys”. We loved to ride our bikes and find a tree to climb. We graduated from high school in 1958 and each traveled to our own corner of the world. The last time I saw Helen was in 2013 when one of our mutual friend was diagnosed...

Helen and Tony's daughter, Bridget, is a good friend of mine from Paris. I did not get the chance to know Helen first hand but she sounded like a really cool, independent woman who raised an equally cool, thoughtful, kind, and smart daughter.

I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences to your family.

My condolences to Tony, his family and friends during this season of sorrow . May the many memories of of a shared life bring comforting reverberations.

Helen and I were in book club together. She was a voracious and insightful reader. We all loved it so much when she would bring out her notes on the book under discussion written in her microscopic hand and then tell us what she had found out about the author, characters or background of the book. And, we would have had no idea! We will miss that so much and of course the bread she made for us from time to time, we will miss that too. But we have her recipe and will continue to make it...

I didn't know Helen but was acquainted with her husband, Tony, through his volunteer work for the American Red Cross while I was employed there. I want to express to him and the family my sincerest sympathy for their loss.

A special friend, initially met through our work in the Portland GSH ER. This bright light in our close knit ER group hosted many parties and was loved by all. Her smile and warmth and always fun-to-be around personality will be deeply missed. A beautiful woman in every way.

The Ladies Group as our family and friends referred to us...We celebrated birthdays, holidays, and just because days. We referred to Helen as Nurse Helen as she was our resident nurse. Her nursing stories always kept us in stitches! We hiked, x-country skied, snowshoed, horse backed, walked, dined, enjoyed weekend excursions, croquet tournaments, book and movie reviews and never ran out of places and events to explore through dialogue or our travels. Laughter was our main ingredient...
