Helen Finan Obituary
Age 87, of Sun Valley, CA was called home November 30th, 2016.
Born February 2nd, 1929 in Morris, Illinois to Alice and Almeron Newell. Predeceased by her husband, Patrick; and granddaughter, Kelly. Helen is survived by one son and four daughters – Joann Brockman, Patsy Hutchings, William Ryder, Karen Lovos, and Kathleen Harper. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Helen worked as a school secretary at St. Genevieve Elementary for 30 years, until her retirement in 2002. She was a loving wife and sister, wonderful homemaker and doting grandmother, who made the best pies and apple squares. She also loved to garden, travel, sunbathe, watch crime TV, read, do crosswords, and cook Sunday dinner for her friends and family. She will be missed dearly by not only her family, but by her community.
Services will be held Friday, December 9th, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 10:30 AM, followed by a wake at her home.
