GERBIG, Helen G. - Of Grand Blanc, age 84, died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 9020 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, The Reverend George L. Cleaves, Jr. officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. Visitation 1-3 and 5-8PM Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Mrs. Gerbig will be at the church from 10AM Tuesday until the time of the service. Helen was born in Lennon, Michigan on April 2, 1924. On November 20, 1948 she married Paul H. Gerbig in Flint. She graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1942. She was a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gerbig was employed by AC Spark Plug Division and The Fair Department Store for many years. Surviving are husband, Paul; son, Jerry and wife Mary of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Kerry Lucasse of Atlanta, Georgia, Jennifer and husband Josh Hatch of Grand Blanc and Sarah Gerbig of Grand Blanc; 2 great-grandchildren, Isabella Hatch and Gabriella Hatch; several nieces and nephews.
