Not sure what to say?

I knew Helen both through the Women's Research Club and because I was a friend of one of those Outlaws, Lauren. I enjoyed reading Captain Baker's journals, and am glad she was publishing to the end. I always enjoyed her, and have missed her.

To "Big Al", Tony & Dickie (and Rebecca, although they must have kept you hidden, as I don't think I ever met you):

My sincere condolences to all of you and your families.

Wow! What a wonderful and fantastic journey your mom went on. It was truly a life well lived. I have to say that at the age I knew her and your dad and all of you, the magnitude of her achievements even at that time, did not register with me. Of course, she continued to do and accomplish so much...

Helen was a remarkable woman that was dearly loved by many.

A wonderful woman. Truly a source of goodness and inspiration for our family, and the best sister my father could ever have hoped to have.

I was privileged to be acquainted with Helen Hill and her beloved husband Don for all the years I lived in Ann Arbor (1989 through 2011). I cannot say strongly enough how strong she was, and how much she lit up the lives of everyone who knew her.

May her memory be entwined with ours so that she lives on forever through us. May her memory always be accounted as a blessing.

What an outstanding individual! Truly one of the most remarkable beings I have been privileged to know. I remember the first time we stayed with her. I hadn't even met her and we stayed in her beautiful home on Olivia and immediately struck up a lively kinship. Cooking, playing games, going to movies. Helen made the holiday so special. We love you Helen!

One of the finest human beings I was ever privileged to know. A great and generous warrior and scholar. She always said she would like to live to be 100. Looks like she made it and then some! Rest in love, old friend.
