HELEN MAY HOWELL Helen May Howell, 83, of Lorida, Florida, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2008, in Lake Placid. 863-385-0125 She was born May 22, 1924, to Frederick John and Della (Brennan) Loesche in Maplewood, Missouri. She had been a resident of Florida since 1937, moving to Miami from St. Louis, Mo. and a resident of the Sebring area since 1980. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed square dancing and playing the piano and loved the outdoors, spending 15 years doing the Cracker Trail Ride. She enjoyed being with her family and friends. Mrs. Howell is survived by her husband of 68 years, Hugh Woodrow Howell, Sr., son, Hugh (and Sandra) Howell, Jr.; daughter, Sharon Howell; grandchildren, Tony Wells, Kim Wells, Hugh Howell, III, Brian Howell, Alan Howell, Cheryl Lee and Catherine Lee; many nieces and nephews and friend Fredy Justus. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Helen Lee and granddaughter, Heather Howell. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2008, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at Stephenson-Nelson, Deacon James R. McGarry officiating.
