Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC - New London Obituary

New London, NH-Helen M. (Cox) Kingsley, died peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the New London Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Boston, MA, the daughter of Peter G and Mary (Tankuns) Cox, Helen was trained at the New England Conservatory, and later worked in Boston at the John Hancock company. She met her future husband, G. Howard Kingsley Jr., while summering near Lake Sunapee. They lived in New Jersey and raised their two daughters, Mary Frances and Nancy there. In 1976, Helen and Howard moved to New London and were communicants and readers at Our Lady of Fatima Church. After her husband's death in 1984, Helen travelled often to the Worcester MA area to visit her daughter Mary Frances and her family. She loved babysitting her grandchildren and enjoyed taking them on little excursions around the area and joining the family in trips abroad. She was always eager for an adventure with her friends, whether it was a drive to try a new restaurant or a trip to a theatre production, the opera, or the Boston Symphony.

At home in New London, she served as a Hospitality Minister at Our Lady of Fatima and loved living in New Hampshire, She enjoyed discovering new recipes and making homemade soups, especially in the chill of the Fall and Winter. She was an avid observer of nature, and eagerly anticipated the annual return of the deer and fox. She enjoyed living each day to the fullest and loved meeting new people. Her family was at the center of everything she did.

She was predeceased by her husband, G. Howard Kingsley, Jr. and her aunt Olga Williams. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy H. Kingsley of New London, NH and Mary Frances Kingsley and her husband, Michael Donnelly of Paxton, MA; two grandchildren and their spouses, Katherine and Michael Kristan and Peter Donnelly and Deaglan Privilege and one great grandson, Charles Michael Kristan.
