Helen Helland Lindgren

I was honored to get to know Helen when visiting my daughter, Kristin Kjome & her husband, Jonathan, in Portland. Helen's father, Dr. Helland, delivered me at the Spring Grove MN hospital in 1944. Dear Dana, Tyler informed us today that your mother had died. Please accept our condolences. She almost made it to 100 years. She was a remarkable woman.

I met Helen at Salishan beach almost 60 years ago through my mother Sally. Julie and I became good friends and we had many play dates. I will always remember Helen as a kind, loving and wonderful mother whose smile would light up the room. Helen will be greatly missed, I was honored to have known her. Helen and Verne Lindgren were dear friends of my parents, Betty and Jim McFarland, for over 50 years. Verne was a member of my parents' wedding party and Helen was pregnant with her first child at the wedding. That was the beginning of wonderful, warm friendship that included being members of the same married couples' group at First Presbyterian Church.
