Dear Ann, Heidi, Henry, and Bill,

Please know that my thoughts are with you during this difficult time. Not only did Helen Ann Lopez serve as a remarkable leader and maternal figure for your family, she extended this role to an entire community. I sit in astonishment and awe of her many community-building and selfless acts and gestures. During a time when our society recognizes service but too often forgets what it actually means, Helen stands as an exemplar of one truly...

Our thoughts & prayers are with the entire family.

Not only is it a great loss for the Family of Helen Lopez but for all the lives she touched at The James Russell Lowell Elementary School. That is why I named her "Mrs. Lowell." She was Lowell School's top advocate.

On the personal side she certainly left a lasting impression in my life. As a new teacher she embraced me with open arms. She looked out for me. When our Chorus & Band began she became one of them....

My Grandma Lopez was the greatest. She was one of the most thoughtful, caring, fun, entertaining and considerate people I have known. She did outstanding work with the community and still had plenty of time to do so much with her family. I loved her dearly and will miss her so much.
Love you Grandma - Karen
