Not sure what to say?

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all family members and close friends of Miss McHugh. I thoroughly enjoyed being in her Latin classes. Miss McHugh always took time to answer our questions after class or after school. I can still picture her sitting on the corner of her desk, book in hand, patiently listening as we read our homework in Latin. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Miss McHugh's nieces and nephews, and friends. She was a lovely lady. I will always remember her.

I was never lucky to have classes with Miss McHugh. Students wanted her for Latin Class instructions and I always knew why. She was a true scholar, lady and person. She and the students at WHS worked so well together. I remember her smiling face in the hallways and she could be found with the cheerleaders, as their advisor. I can remember her telling me that I would receive an award at graduation, but would not disclose which one. She was " OUR MISS MCHUGH" enough said.....RIP

Ms. McHugh was a model for me. I had her as a Latin teacher for 3 years. I am now in my 38th year of teaching in the DC rea. I think, we'll hope, I have done so good. And I thank teachers like Ms McHugh for inspiring me to o into this profession.

Miss McHugh was my 9th grade Honors English teacher (WAHS Class of 1978). She got me hooked on cryptoquote puzzles and I still do them today! I even have my daughter hooked on them now. My sincerest sympathy to her family.

Miss Mchugh was my teacher, cheering advisor, and friend. She taught me a language, latin, that I used everyday in my nursing skills. My prayers go out to her family!

What a great great lady, who left us with many great memories. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I think I had only one class with Helen McHugh at Wilson High, but my sister regaled me with stories, and Miss McHugh's cheers in Latin: "Sum, es, est, sumus, estis, sunt." Did Miss McHugh's love of language rub off on me? I've been working on Spanish for decades and still enjoying it. Her life is a fine example for all of us. My prayers and thoughts go out to her family.

Sending deepest sympathies to all whom had the priveldge of knowing Helen. Those Irish eyes were always smiling.
