Not sure what to say?

I had the priviledge of having Helen as a patient in the dental office that i work in. She was definitely one of my favorites and we would have nice chats. She made my first son one of her famous "strawberry hats" and we will have it forever. I was not able to attend the service, so i wanted to write in the guest book and just say, what a lovely and classy woman Helen was inside and out. She will be missed.

Hello Jock and Trista,
Another Helen gone. My mother, Helen, thought so much of your Helen and my father, George, loved swimming at the MAC with your Helen. Such a wonderful lady - I know how much you will miss her.
Take care,
Nancy Wintz Decherd

My fondest memory of Helen Nelson is the great joy she found in watching me play with a kitten of her's in her back yard. I am not sure how old I was (maybe 10ish) but I had that kitten scampering all around, chasing a pine cone on a string. I will always remember her as a women who loved life and those around her.

During our 15 year stay in POrtland we exchanged hospitality often with Helen and her husband. After we moved East, we kept in contact and
always visited her during our visits. Her sense of humor, that special sparkle in her eyes and a great sense of style and dignity make her unforgettable. We send our sincerest sympathies to the whole family. Pat and Jack Clopper in Alexandria, Virginia

Helen will be sadly missed at the garden club meetings. A very spunky lady. My sincere sympathy to her family.

Jock and Trista,
Thinking of you at this sad time. We did not know your mother, but she sounded like a lovely lady. We are sorry for your loss.

As a child I often visited the Nelson house with my friend Sara Madden. It was great fun to play with you Maggie and your Mom always made sure that I never left without one of her toasted peanut butter sandwiches. Your mother was so gracious, so welcoming and friendly. I am so sorry for your loss.

Jock and Trista,
Portland has lost a grand lady! And you have lost a great mother! Please accept our deepest sympathy.

Helen was a truly wonderful neighbor and friend. It was my privilege and pleasure to have lived near her. She was one of the most enthusiastic, generous and kind people I have ever known. She was also a caring and responsive listener. On this Thanksgiving, I am deeply grateful to have had Helen in my life.
