Not sure what to say?

I called her miss Van Eerden in Seymour school, when our Van Dellen family imigrated from the Netherlands to U.S.A she helped us learn english she was a very kind and patient teacher. My sympathy to the family.

Our thoughts are with you. Ray and Barbara Bouma

Helen was not only teacher to two of our sons at Millbrook Christian but also a wonderful next door neighbor on Millbank St. for many years. She and her husband never minded our boys messing up the snow in their front yard by sliding down the hill from our driveway into their front yard. She was a wonderful neighbor, teacher and child of God. May God comfort you, her family. Ken and Donna Van Iddekinge

Mrs. Oostdyk was my very first teacher, over fifty years ago. I can say without reservation that out of them all, she was one of the best. I will never forget her kind and exemplary teaching. She instilled in her students both respect and a love of learning. How special. I will cherish the memories of her at Millbrook.

My Christian sympathies to the family.

Dad and I will try to make it to the visitation but if dad has a rough day and we don't make it, please know that we are with you in spirit. We have many good memories of Aunt Helen and Uncle Jim. Loving thoughts sent your way.

I am the granddaughter of Josephine and Alan Batts and just learned of Helen's passing. My warmest sympathy to those who held Helen dear.

The American name we chose for her is Helen, named after a place we hold dear. There is a beautiful, remote lake in the southern Sierra Nevada Mountains, just off Muir Pass, called Helen Lake. Aunt Helen was a beautiful person and will always have a special place in my heart. How wonderful for her to finally be home.

Mrs. Oostdyk was my kindergarten teacher in 69-70. I remember some of her lessons, coupled with the thrill of being in school. I pray for the family that they be comforted on their loss.

Dear Jim and Joyce, I just loved Helen and she was a wonderful teacher for my children. Love and peace. Marcia
