Helen Sandoval

Maria Helen Sandoval, 87, of Spearman passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Viewing will be on Wednesday, December 31,2025, from 9:00a.m. until 6:00p.m. and Thursday January 1, 2026, from 1: 00p.m until 6:00p.m. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman.  Rosary will be on Thursday at 6:00 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spearman.  Mass will be on Friday, January 2, 2026, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spearman at 2:00p.m. with Father Hrudaya Raju Kondamudi officiating.  Burial will follow at the Hansford Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman.

Helen was born on November 28, 1938, to Donato Velasquez and Naya Chavez Valasquez in Santa Rosa, New Mexico.  She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spearman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Felix Sandoval Sr. and daughter, Janett Longoria.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Rachel and husband Rusty Shafer of Florence, TX., sons, Ernie Sandoval and wife Rosetta of Spearman, and Felix Sandoval Jr. of Fritch, TX., three sisters, Eva and husband Steve Verdell of Clovis, NM., Patricia Warlick of Clovis, NM, and Stevanna and husband Frank Romero also of Clovis, NM.  She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
