SANFORD, , HELEN JEFFERSON We are deeply saddened to report the passing of our beloved Aunt Helen, a lady of exceptional graciousness, beauty and elegance who graced the lives of her family and many friends. Helen was born on January 24, 1922 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of oil and gas...

Not sure what to say?

Helen served as Recording Secretary for Jane Douglas Chapter NSDAR for two terms from 1984-1988. No organization could have had finer minutes than those she recorded. She was always poised, gracious and a magnificent lady, exceptionally well qualified. It was a privilege to have known her. My deepest sympathy,

Although we were aware of Helen's illness, we are still sorry to learn of her passing. She was one of the classiest ladies I met, with great intelligence and a wonderful sense of humor. The world is less without her.

Helen, a truly elegant lady. I was pleased that you joined me for my 60th birthday and my retirement party.

My deepest condolences and a tribute to a great lady and Marine. Helen was a member of our Women Marines Association, TX-1, Lonestar Chapter, Dallas for a long time, and I had the opportunity to meet her while I served as President of the group. Helen will be greatly missed, and we know she will guard heaven's gates til we all go there as well. We remain, Always Faithful/Semper Fideles, Helen, from all of us Marines!

I was also stationed at Parris Island in 44 and 45. Our paths probably crossed. Also I was born just three days before you were so that makes us even closer. Semper Fi and guard those gates for us.

Helen has always been right there with family news, good and bad, over her years in Dallas. Recalling shared Christmases in Auburn, opera in Dallas, and good conversations in between...I will miss knowing she is there. A friend from high school years.

Please accept our deepest sympathies.

Please accept our sincere condolences

We met Helen only about three years ago. It was obvious when we first met her that here was a person with a lot of "class". She was "a lady" in the finest sense of the word. Our great regret is that we did not know her earlier in life. We were very impressed with her in many ways, not the least of which was her service to her country in the Marine Corps. She will be greatly missed. Our sincere sympathy to her family and all her many friends.
