SKAGGS, Helen Faye - Of Burton, age 69, died Monday, January 19, 2009 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Thursday, January 22, 2009 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Larry B. Survance officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association. Visitation 5-8PM Tuesday, 11AM-3PM and 5-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Helen was born in Zyess, Arkansas on April 6, 1939, the daughter of John and Bessie Wilbanks. She graduated from Atherton High School. She volunteered for Bendle Band from 1980-1983. Helen enjoyed camping with her family. On March 2, 1957 she married Eldon Skaggs. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Eldon; children, Alan, Dennis (Carrie), Deborah Allen and Mary (Dan) Wilson; mother, Bessie Wilbanks; grandchildren, Tony, Cassie, Stacey, Stephanie, Matthew and Nathaniel; 7 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. She was preceded in death by her father, John Wilbanks; brother, Ron Wilbanks and great-grandson, Devin Kimball. Special thanks to the nurses at Genesys CICU, especially, Albert. We just read about your wife/mom's death. We were surprised and very sorry to hear the sad news. She was a special person and VERY proud of her family. I will miss seeing her at Meijers!
