She was a warm, approachable, compassionate woman with the gift of perception. She contributed to the well-being of many. She may be physically absent but will never be so in the hearts and minds of all whom she touched.

I only met Helen 2 or 3 times, but she touched my life magically! Helen radiated a special warmth, compassion and intelligence that created an immediate, unforgettable rapport with her. She truly enriched my life. I now understand that one reason I love her daughter Carol so much is that Carol inherited a lot of her mother's warmth and magnetism. I feel privileged, indeed.

As a good friend of Helen's wonderful daughter, Carol, it was my honor and privilege to meet this extraordinary woman on a couple of occasions. I loved her from the first moment I met her, just as I had loved her daughter. What a gift Helen has been to the world. While her absence will be mourned by so, so many, her gift--herself--will remain with us always. Thank you so much, Helen, for enriching my life and so many others.

To Helen's children and family I send warm memories of the house in Monroe and visits to Leo and Miriam Strauss. And an encounter in Paris many years ago.
She was, literally, part of that greatest generation. An inspiration to her family and all who knew her.
Warmest regards and may her memory be as
a blessing.

To Carol, Ted, Deemie, Michael, Peter, and the entire amazing collection of descendants of Helen and Fritz: I have so many wonderful memories of Helen! She was an integral and vibrant part of the friendship you and I shared, and although you will miss her strong presence every day, you will also feel it every day. Helen was also such a force for good in her profession and has touched countless thousands, especially children, with her counsel, support and guidance. My thoughts and prayers are...
