Not sure what to say?

My late aunt, Marjorie Hood, who was chief librarian at UNC-Greensboro (formerly Woman's College) for many years, spoke often of her dear friends, Helen and her sister, Ruby Rich. When I was a child, she took me to see Miss Stroupe and Mrs. Rich at their Creola Road home in Charlotte. Apparently, they lost touch before my aunt died in 1984. I regret not knowing them better. My condolences to the family.

What a beautiful lady, beautiful soul, mind and spirit, and what a beautiful life she lived. I'm so blessed to have been a friend of Stroupie's. She is no doubt looking down at her beautiful cabin right now. We love you Stroupie.

It was good fortune that brought Helen into my life and for many years she provided inspiration, laughter, and stories unlike those told by anyone else.
She will be missed.

Some of my greatest and fun loving memories are with Stroupie....I was one of her assistants in the Lincolnton High School Library..in 1948-50. We had the best time of anyone in that school...a wonderful lady and a wonderful friend....If I had known she was that close to me I would have found a way to see her.....she will be missed by many....J Burgin

i plan to be at the service. My name is Judy Blackwood Holland. I am the granddaughter of Ellie Hurst Blackwood, Carrie Hurst sister. I visited with Stroupie about a year ago because I have been searching the Hurst family history. She, of course, could not tell me anything. I currently live in Lincolnton, NC and have a copy of the annual that was dedicated to her. I look forward to meeting some of you. Judy
