Helen and I became friends in the mid 1980s in Charleston, SC, when we were both social workers. She was a mentor who became a wonderful friend. I still remember how fun it was to meet her for lunch engage in the conversations we had, which inevitably resulted in both of us laughing uncontrollably at each other´s stories.
