WILLIAMS, Helen F. - Of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at her residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint,
Father Thomas Firestone officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 1-4pm and 5-8pm Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Wednesday at church until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Flint Powers Catholic Tuition Assistance.
Helen was born in Flint on March 14, 1927, the daughter of the late Frank and Martha (Shaker) Mattar. On September 5, 1953, she married Taufak (John) Williams at All Saints Catholic Church in Flint. Helen was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and Holy Family Catholic Church. Her hobbies included playing cards, sports and cooking for her family and friends. She will be remembered by many as a long-term lunch lady for Powers Catholic School. Helen had a deep devotion for the Catholic faith and the love for her family.
Surviving are husband of 63 years, Taufak (John) Williams;
Sons, Norm (Heather) Williams and Tom Williams;
Daughter, Martha (Paul) Miller;
11 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter;
And many nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by siblings, Nimrie Macksood, Roger Mattar, Woody Mattar, Ann Daher, Josephine Harrison, Millard Mattar and granddaughter, Kennedi Jo Vance.

Martha, Norman, Tommy, John, and family, please accept my deepest sympathy. I have so many fond memories of being with your family. The food, the laughter, the love, I will cherish all my life. Helen was a beautiful and generous person who bought joy to all that know her. She was a tremendous cook and had a warm smile for all the faculty and students at Powers Catholic High School. She will be greatly missed.
