Helen L. Winston

Helen L. Winston, 102, of Fork Union, Virginia, died Sunday, January 18, 2009, at Ruxton at The Village.

She was born September 19, 1906, in Maryland, and was the widow of Raymond E. Winston. She was also preceded in death by her son, Allen L. Winston.

Mrs. Winston was a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbia, Virginia.

She is survived by three grandchildren, George Winston, Dawn Hess and Stephen Winston; five great-grandchildren, a nephew, Raymond Yancey; and a very special and loving friend and caretaker, Carolyn Bess of Palmyra, Virginia.

Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2009, at Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, Maryland.

Sheridan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
