Not sure what to say?

Thanks Helen for asking about me and everyone else who came into the store. Thank you for your care and warmth. And fortunate to be part of your family.

Too many memories, not enough words. We all are fortunate to have had Helen and her family in our lives. The institution and dynamics of the "GARDEN MARKET" i.e., 'Mitch's', were influential on us all. Thanks Helen.

Oh my goodness, so much love encircles all of us who grew up with the wonderful Yamamoto family. I can remember, when I was quite young, taking a book in the car when Mom went shopping....she always was so long, due to the friendly conversations with Mitch and Helen and the community that was drawn to the love that greeted every person entering the store. Soon, I was drawn into that love too, and found the healthy fruits and vegies that Mitch & Helen worked hard to provide. We are so...

Remembering Helen fondly, along with Mich, for the memories of a grand little market where we all shopped, met friends and where all my children stopped for respite and to spend pennies and nickels on the long walk home from St. Sebastion School. They even perfected their math skill of "making change" with Helen and Mich's help.

Dear Yamamoto Family,
I continue to tell stories of "Mich's" . Your beautiful family taught the neighborhood kids to recycle long before it was 'mandated'. We searched every bush and hedge for soda bottles to exchange for those really cool wax lips! Peace to your family at this very sad time. Katie Malone Wulftange

Dean and the rest of the Yamamoto family~ Growing up in Santa Paula and living on Terracina gave me so much pleasure. Stopping in at the Garden Market to buy candy or running down to pick things up for my mom was always so much fun. The smiles and love given by your mom and dad and aunt were always a highlight of my trips. We grew up in a time that I treasure so very much. They were very much loved by all.

Paul and family. Your Mom was a great lady. I remember your Dad and of course the Garden Market, since it was just up the street. She was a great lady. Please accept my condolances. carol Gillete Hanners

Mich and Helen and Garden Market were a part of my childhood as well. I still think of them every time I am in SP and stop in for a burrito. Their kindness to everyone is well-remembered and treasured. Santa Paula is blessed to have had them as part of its history.
