We only knew Helene for a few years after meeting her and Jane Kritzberger at the Bridgewater Seniors. She was a kind, friendly lady and we enjoyed her company on many trips with the Seniors. We were sorry to see her move to Arizona and were truly saddened of her passing on. We're sure the good Lord is enjoying her company as much as we did. Gene and Bernadine

I have lived across the street from Helene for many years. She was an inspiration to me and others in the neighborhood.

Helene was always very well groomed unlike so many of us who just kick around in our 'grubbies'. Sometimes if I would see her in the grocery store, I thought she was dressed for church, but she was just carefully groomed for her day.

I saw Helene go in and out most days and she was very able and independent. She would not let any of us help her...

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. Mrs. Riis was my grandfather's secretary at Hillside for many years. Before she got ill, my grandmother and her would go out on day trips together. My grandmother Jane would also like to send her condolences. She will truly miss her.

MAY I ADD MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO YOU IN THE RECENT LOSS OF YOUR MOTHER. I FIRST MET MRS.RIIS IN 1958 DURING MY FIRST YEAR OF TEACHING IN THE ADAMSVILLE SCHOOL. WE THEN CAME TOGETHER AGAIN AT HILLSIDE SCHOOL. DURING THOSE SHARED YEARS IN THE LATE 50's AND THEN IN THE LATE 70"s INTO THE 80's, I ALWAYS SAW HELEN WITH A WARM AND WELCOMING SMILE. IN HER QUIET AND UNASSUMING WAY, SHE WAS ALWAYS ABLE TO HELP WITH ANY QUESTION CONCERNING NEW CHANGES IN SCHOOL POLICIES OR LEND A EAR TO ANY AND ALL...
