I was so saddened to hear this terrible news. I knew Helene many years ago when I had a gallery in the East Village and Helene purchased art works from me on behalf of Prudential. She was so knowledgeable, had a great eye, and a wonderful personality. We were not close but I held her in high esteem. The world has lost a truly wonderful person and my heart goes out to you.

Dear Fred, Ford, Curtis and family,
I am so sad about the tragic death of Helene. I met Helene when she curated a show of my work at Prudential. I just loved her immediately. Since then she had followed my work and came to most of my New York exhibits. I always looked forward to her comments because of the incredible respect I had of her.She was an amazing person and will be incredibly missed. I send you strength to help you through this and know that she will always be in my heart.

My husband Steve met Fred when they were working at the post office & going to City College, in 1968. I met Fred & Helene in 1972. Helene was a vibrant, articulate woman, who was on the path that would lead to a career filled with great accomplishments and outstanding value to the publics improved appreciation for artist and their work. During the past 8 years we have met many wonderful people at Nassau Swim Club. Two people who stand out, whom are the heart and soul of our special community there, are Helene and Fred Seeman.
