Not sure what to say?

My first sleep training was at Dr Schmidt's sleep "Tech Shop" where he and his son both where on site during my class. What an honor to have both of them working together and what a fantastic program. As a result of their efforts I have recommended similar programs to all new Technologists. Thank you Dr Schmidt for all your work to help us continue on the work of sleep awareness and Sleep Disorders Treatment. You will be missed...

My sympathies to Dr. Schmidt's family. Dr. Schmidt changed my life through his caring and frank treatment of my sleep apnea. I believe that I am alive today because of him.

Helmut was my entree to psychiatry at Ohio State, supervising me in the sleep lab and inviting me to co-author a presentation at the World Congress in (?) 1969. He was kind and clear and inclusive, not common qualities in the faculty then: he helped me persevere a difficult time in my becoming a physician. My regret hearing that he has passed away is that I never had the opportunity to say a proper thank-you to him after medical school, nor to apologize to him for smoking in his brand new car...

I am so sorry to learn of Dr. Schmidt's passing. He was a great professional and a pioneer in his field of speciality. He rescued me from a sleep doctor who was only concerned about his financial statements. He was honest and straight forward and will be missed greatly. I extend my condolences to his family, friends, staff and patients. He was clearly one of the great minds uncovering the great mysteries and dangers associated with sleep disorders.

I owe a great deal to Dr. Schmidt...he most likely saved my life, and certainly improved its quality. I will miss our occasional chats. He was one of the good guys.

Dear Angela and family:

I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Schmidt's passing. I fondly remember my years from 1980-1986 at Ohio State University Hospitals as his secretary, and the many other things he called me!! He was such a kind and dedicated soul and I was so happy to see he achieved all of his dreams in the field of sleep medicine. My love to your family and sympathy on your loss of such an amazing man. My deepest sympathy to Dr Schmidt's family. He was an excellent sleep physician, dedicated researcher, and pioneer in sleep medicine. His passing is a great loss to the field of sleep medicine. He will be greatly missed by his colleagues and patients. I know he was extremely proud that his son Markus will carry on his legacy in the field.

It was with great sadness that I learned of the death of Dr. Schmidt. This represents a substantial loss to all that have known him. A substantial source of solace is the fact that his many contributions to the field of sleep medicine and the impact he has had on the lives of the patients he has served will preserve his memory for years to come.

Dear Angelika, Bob and I were so shocked to hear this very sad news and we wish to expess our sincere sympathy to you,Markus and Daniel. Bob had many grand visits to the Office over these twenty plus years with Helmut to discuss business and many other topics and he always said What a great person,Doctor and Friend he was..He made a marvelous contribution to Medicine over all these years and he will be remembered with much respect and gratitude from all who knew him. He will be greatly missed...
