Henderson Ward

Many of the lessons I learned at Georgia Tech were beyond the content of the text. They were the content of the teacher. I learned many things from Dr. Ward far more then what was in the text. But 28 years later , I still can't fix his watch ( I left Tech for 3 years to take over a family jewelry business) He was a wonderful person. He helped make me who I am and for that I'm very thankful. BChe 81

Farewell old friend. I will miss the football conversations as much as the chemical engineering conversations. Thank you for all your contributions to Tech.

Dr Ward was an institution in the CHE department at GT. Both my brother and I had him for "Magic" 304 and 305 (Transport Phenom). His tests were incredible. Sometimes there was only one problem and you worked on it for an hour and then wished you had three more. I learned humility when my test scores were numbers like 40, 25, etc. But he was always fair and he knew the material like no one else. "Bet ya a Coke-a-cola"

He will be remembered for a long time!

It was a beautiful service for Henderson: worthy of his great contribution to family, church, education and country. As a veteran of the rapidly receding World War II era, I was deeply touched when the family entered the sanctuary as the organ played They Navy Hymn.

Dr. Ward was both a fine prof and a fine person - he was one of my favorites at GT. He was a great educator from whom a huge number of GT students greatly benefitted.

I was fortunate to be one of Dr. Ward's students. Every class began with a volley of information and just when we were feeling saturated, he would walk to the podium, pop open a Coke-a-Cola and ask what we though of Saturday's game. Learning in his classroom was a true pleasure. He will be missed.
