Henry was such a special man. He was my parents' best friends' father! I clearly remember my brother Ricky sharing a birthday with him. He took my son down to his basement and gave him a private drum lesson, my son was 4 at the time. He loved his wife Yola almost as much as his favorite; flanken in the pot!! He will be missed by his family but remembered for his patience and sense of humor. We will miss you Henry.

I was lucky enough to study with Henry on the recommendation of my previous teacher, Walter Garces. His concepts and personality had a huge impact on me and are now making their way to my students. He was a gem of a man and will not be forgotten.

Henry was my teacher and friend, but so much more.He shared with me so many insights and tips that have allowed me to follow my dream to be a working drummer for over 30 years.I was hoping to see him and thank him again in person.His lessons and jokes will live on in my heart, and all the students I have taught and will teach in the future.

Henry Adler was a genius of the drumming world of educators. He was a strict, but generous teacher, giving much advice, candor and wisdom with every lesson he taught. He was fun to be with, just to hang at his store was an education. His books are iconic- I am a better person for knowing Henry.

Mr. Adler was one of a kind, a bright and warm person who was guided by his passion for music and music making! During his long career he influenced countless drummers with his playing, teaching, drum shop and books.
