1964. I was struggling with this thing called girls. Hank said if I could dance, girls would like to be with me. He taught me to do the St. Louis Imperial to Girl, Why You Wanna Make Me Blue by the Temptations. We went to the Sunset Club together. What I didn't know was that Hank had arranged for the band, Eugene Neal and the Rocking Kings, to play that song. He also arranged for a girl to ask me to dance when that song started. Hank was a fixture at the gym I attend. He knew virtually everyone on a first name basis, spoke to all that he encountered, shared stories along with an infectious laugh and was fiercely loyal to his friends.
He was my friend and is missed.
