Not sure what to say?

In the early 70s Josh often had a very late night stint where his calmness and earthiness was a reassuring connection to a young me who occasionally needed to hear his voice in order to be able to settle back in contact with the planet.

We're with Weas here, at the Little Feat Benefit for the Feast Your Ears/WHFS documentary, at Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club

Ah, Josh, you and Spiritus Cheese made me feel part of the family at the legendary WHFS from the first time I heard you, several years before I joined you at the station. Thank you for all the wonderful music you turned me onto, and the great times we had! Catch you on the flip side, my friend ❤

I miss waving to Josh sitting outside on his stoop in his PJs doing his crossword puzzle. Speaking of crossword puzzles... do we have the solution for the crossword puzzle from the service..? There are too many that I cannot solve =)

It was truly a pleasure to know Josh.

I remember how much fun Josh was to hang out with. We had great times listening to live bands in DC, and he was always a good sport and ready to pull pranks or live extemporaneously. We bought umbrella hats at the beach and he started wearing them at the Root Boy SLim shows. I still have mine. We shared a place in Cabin John and it seems like yesterday. I will miss you, my friend.

Josh was a good friend and coworker. We are family at WFMD/WFRE. He always had kind words and kept a smile on his face even when he spoke to me about his aches and pain. He was strong and courageous and will surely be missed. RIP.

All of our lives are better for having known Josh. The sun shined brighter when he was near. My heart is heavy for a loss felt by so many.

You gave so much to the DMV music scene. Thank you Josh "Spiritus Cheese" Brooks

Always a constant in my life for 50 years. Every memory a good one. Will miss you more than words can say. Love you much!
