Not sure what to say?

Hank was a close friend of my father John Joplin. When I was a little girl his son Clifford was my playmate. There were lots of photos of us playing. I tried to find the family for years so I could pass on photos and memories. I have a photo of baby Philip and his mother Dorothy. Not sure any one is left but fond Memories remain.

Cliff was the coach that helped me when Phil and I were on the same Babe Ruth team. When we were both 15 our All-Star team went to the Babe ruth World Series in New Jersey. Cliff hit us fly balls by the hundreds and taught me how to turned go back and many more skills. He was always good to all of us

Every year since Hank passed away brings great memories of a great man who spoke quietly about his achievements. He supported his family to the end. Thankful for his coaching help. His son Phil and I were teammates and his loss at an early age was sad. Dying so young left a void for all who knew him.

Hank was father to Phil Bushman. Phil and I played Babe Ruth baseball together and at Madison. The summer of 1962 our all-star team went to the Babe Ruth World Series. Hank spent tome teaching the outfield that included Phil and I in preparation for the journey. I learned enough to make the varsity after that and a spot on the OSU team in 1966. Hank was so patient with us. He was also a great task master and as we ran back and forth across the outside catching the hundreds of fly balls he hit...

Hank and my father were close friends through church and little league with Wellington Park, high school teammates with our families in the stands cheering for us. His support for all kids was great and when I look at the picture in my computer room with all the Dads that supported us we were all lucky to have such strong men in our lives. Hank will be missed by all and especially his family. What a legacy he has left and great memories.

So sorry for your loss - Phil and I played baseball together for many years and Hank kept us outfielders in his sights.
He was always a gentleman - in spite of many emotional games in Babe Ruth, Madison Varsity and American Legion

I'm very sorry to hear about your father's passing, although I never met your dad I know that he was a wonderful man. The reason I know that is because I knew your brother Phil. We went to Madison High, he was in my older brother's class. As a baseball fan I always looked up to him because he was so good. After high school our paths crossed in the National Guard over in Redmond OR. I was working in the area and he was on the Bend pro baseball team. Meeting Phil and getting to know him changed...
