He was known throughout GTRI for his expertise in radar systems. He also wrote many reports and taught short courses on missile and space applications for various U.S. Military departments. He was truly a Helluva Engineer! After his retirement, Arch and Shirley enjoyed traveling all over the world as Shirley spoke at many professional culinary conferences and events. Archhelped enormously with research and editing for Shirley's book, CookWise and BakeWise. Arch had a great sense of humor and was an expert on jokes. He appreciated language and etymology, enjoyed classical music, and was a wine connoisseur. He was also an early member of the Cherokee Town and Country Club. Arch's quick wit, genuine compassion and generosity with others will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on April 10th, 2017 at the Georgia National Cemetery for veterans in Canton, GA. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Salvation Army and The American Cancer Society.

Shirley,

Thinking of you and Arch today, for some reason. Was reading about Nathalie Dupree, and that was the trigger. So sorry to hear of Archie's passing. Fred passed in 2013. I'm sure that they are listening to and critiquing music and telling bad jokes together!

Take care,

Margo Dixon

Dear Lisa and Family,

Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. It seems he had a rich and wonderful life. I'm certain he would be pleased knowing that he will rest - and be at peace - among other military veterans.
