Not sure what to say?

My Aunt Mildred (my grandmother's sister) and my Uncle Henry were two of the most wonderful people anyone could ever imagine. Anyone who knew them realized just how special they were. I can't remember any family vacation, any holiday, any major family event that they were not a part of. I miss them both and will remember their goodness and kindness. I will always cherish the years that God gave us with them.

I offer my deep sympathy for the loss of Henry. May your precious memories shared over the years help you to cope with his loss. One day you have the hope of seeing him again, because he will awaken from the sleep of death. The prophet Daniel was inspired to write: :There will be many of those asleep in the ground of dust who will wake up. Daniel 12:2. May you be comforted by the promise of seeing Henry again.

UNCLE HENRY AND AUNT MILDRED WE CALLED THEM GROWING UP IN OUR MOST LOVED LITTLE VILLAGE OF BATTERY PARK. THEY WERE THE SWEETEST COUPLE TO ALL OF THEIR KIDS IN OUR COMMUNITY, THEY HAD NONE OF THEIR OWN, BUT SURE CLAIMED ALL OF US. I WILL NEVER FORGET ALL THE AFTERNOONS AT THE LITTLE WHITE STORE THEY OWNED AND ORDERED WHATEVER KIND OF CANDY WE WANTED AND FROZE OUR CANDY BARS FOR US. WE USE TO LOVE SPENDING OUR TIME IN THEIR PRESENCE BECAUSE THEY WERE ALWAYS SO SPECIAL. GOD HAS GAINED A...

Henry and Mildred were two of the most beloved "icons" to ever set up residence in our hometown "The Park". They made a lasting impression on me as to just how neighbors should be. I always felt loved whenever I was in their presence. My very first memories of Mildred were her helping me to pick out my bag of penny candy to take into the fields. Henry was always by her side, a devoted husband and provider. I know he truly loved this community of friends. We will all miss him terribly. ...

Mr Eley will always be remembered as the most loving man. He was a gentleman and all the kids in Battery Park felt safe and wanted at the station and anywhere he might be. We both have the best memories of him and Mrs Eley. Love to your family

Henry (and Mildred) were a very important part of "growing up" in Battery Park. Many afternoons were spent at the "station" buying snacks and putting air in our bike tires. Henry will be missed by all his extended family in the "Park" .... I'm sure he'll be riding his mower and keeping a close eye on all of us. To the family we hope you find comfort in knowing you are in the hearts and prayers of all your friends. Love,

I have fond memories of Henry and his precious wife while I was privileged to be their pastor at Battery Park Baptist Church many years ago. I thank God for them.
