I knew Henry because of my career in Decorative Arts. He was always courteous and responsive to my academic needs. Moreover, he supported me in my career endeavors and was, always, an inspiration to younger professionals in decorative arts. His acquisitions and publications, while at the Cleveland Museum of Art, were truly stunning and "world class." He will be missed but I am so grateful I was able to interact with him several times. A true class act! Rest in peace, dear Henry.

Henry's sister,Sally Dunning,and I were classmates at John S Bradfield,Highland Park Junior High,and Highland Park High School.When I was a senior at Highland Park in 1961-1962,the Hawleys had an exchange student from Athens,Greece,Lena Mavroukaky Gini living with them.
