I have known Hank for 78 years. During the war, Hank's mother, Iola, worked in our cleaning store with my mother. Hank's father was in the Army and spent his time in India. My mother and Iola became very close. Hank was 2 years younger than me.
Hank's grandparents has a farm and I recall one instance when I was maybe 6 years old. We were at the farm and swan, buck naked, in the pond with the pigs. I recall it as a good time. I can't imagine letting 4 and 6 years old boys swim with 300 pound hogs, but that is the way I remember it.
Hank and Kathy were in my wedding where they met each other. The result was a wonderful marriage with a terrific family. Hank left a beautiful legacy. He died too young, and my sympathy goes to Kathy and the rest of the family.
